Public Notice of Citizen Vacancies on Two Boards

2026 NOTICE OF VACANCIES
OKEECHOBEE COUNTY CITIZEN BOARDS

The Okeechobee BOCC has two Boards that have vacancies and we are looking for residents of Okeechobee County who may be interested in serving the community and willing to serve on a Citizen Board.

These are volunteer appointments. Depending on the Board, an appointment will be for a term of 4 years.  These Boards meet monthly. The two following Boards have openings:

 Construction Industry Licensing Board

One (1) Vacancy - Contractor - term ends 3/01/2029

One (1) Alternate Vacancy - Contractor or Lay Person - term ends 3/01/2029

Planning Board/Board of Adjustments and Appeals

One (1) Vacancy - term ends 3/01/2028

One (1) Alternate Vacancy - term ends 3/01/2029

Descriptions of the Citizen Boards and Committees, along with eligibility requirements, current membership and other information, may be viewed at www.okeechobeecountfl.gov/committees. Applications for appointments to a Citizen Board or Committee may be obtained from the County Administrator’s Office at  304 NW 2nd  Street, Room 123, Okeechobee, Florida, Ph: (863) 763-6441, or you may download the form at: www.okeechobeecountfl.gov/committees.

To  be  considered  for  terms  that  have  already  expired  or  that  will  expire  this  year,  you  must  submit a completed application, along with proof of residency in Okeechobee County  and  evidence  of  meeting any requirements applicable for a specific Board or Committee appointment to the County Administrator’s Office no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026. The Board of County Commissioners appreciate the volunteered time and assistance that all members of the Citizen Boards and Committees  provide  to  the  Board  of  County  Commissioners  and  to  the  citizens  of   Okeechobee County.
