Okeechobee County provides operation maintenance for three (3) county cemeteries which are known as Basinger, Evergreen and Ft. Drum Cemetery. Faculties Maintenance is responsible in overseeing the daily operations of the Cemetery Department which includes the cemetery budget, future improvements and burial site area expansion, creation of cemetery mapping system, and website information.

On June 19, 2025, Okeechobee County launched a new cemetery digitization project known as "Chronicle" which is a digital system. Ground surveys and aerial photos were used to cross-reference data, ensuring that accurate information is contained on the website. Once a plot is accurately marked, it receives a geotag. Users are able to search for their loved ones by entering a name on the website. The Chronicle system uses your phone’s GPS (Global Positioning System) to guide you directly to the desired grave site. Users can scan the QR code on the signs at the cemeteries to access the Chronicle website, and Chronicle uses your phone’s GPS system to guide you directly to your family member's site. Users also have the option to create a “Life Chronicle” for their loved ones. This is essentially an online memorial that allows families and close friends to share their own stories about the individual.

Users can access features of the Chronicle Map at Chronicle Cemetery Map | Deceased Records & Grave Locator and enter "Okeechobee" in the top search bar to access both cemeteries.

Additionally, Users can access these features by scanning the QR codes located below or on the cemetery signs located at the cemetery location.

The County's current Fee Outline is as follows:

Perpetual Care Fees are $400 at time of interment, this is a one time fee.

Cemetery Plots are $800 per plot.

Monument and Headstone fee is $25 for setting the monument/headstone. Payable prior to set-up
