Okeechobee County Ordinance 2026-0001 was approved on February 12, 2026, adopting general provisions and establishing impact fees for multiple public facility categories. The ordinance becomes effective May 14, 2026.
Impact Fee Study
In accordance with Section 163.31801, Florida Statutes (the “Florida Impact Fee Act”), Okeechobee County conducted a comprehensive Impact Fee Study (12.09.2025) to ensure that the fees adopted under Ordinance 2026-0001 are fair, reasonable, and proportional to the demands that new development places on public facilities. The study provides the methodology, data, and analysis used to calculate fees, considering projected population growth and capital improvement needs. The study ensures that impact fees are allocated based on each type of development’s share of service demand. The full Impact Fee Study is below.
