In Okeechobee County, our Strategic Plan is more than just a document—it’s the foundation for how we serve our community. It guides our County team and aligns our work with the priorities of residents, and the Board of County Commissioners.

Driven by our mission to provide responsive government services, to its citizens, in a well-managed, cost effective, fiscally sound, policy driven manner. All services provided shall benefit the health, safety and welfare of the community, we use strategic planning to address community needs and shape a stronger future. Our vision is to promote a community with a small town environment that fosters a desirable place to live, work, and play. l

Okeechobee County began creating strategic plans to identify five-year projections into future services and needs. We update the Strategic Plan every five (5) years, which is developed by input from the public through Community Surveys, strategic planning workshops, the Board of County Commissioners, and interviews, guides the budget and County operations. These priorities are then reflected in the County's annual budget to ensure the right resources are in place for implementation.

The Strategic Plan guides Okeechobee County in its operations and allocation of resources, ensuring we align priorities in support of the plan. Through plan implementation, we continue the Board’s commitment to good fiscal stewardship, a strong commitment to public safety, improving infrastructure, facilitating economic growth, protecting our environmental resources, collaborating with our partner agencies.
